MEMBERSHIP
GTA comprises of fifteen member companies currently operating thirty-seven (37) registered tuna vessels i.e. 20 bait boats and 17 purse seine. In addition to these there are two canneries; Pioneer Food Cannery and Cosmos Foods. Most tuna vessels are operated on joint-venture basis, with Ghanaians having minimum 50% of the shares, as required by the Fisheries Act 2002, (Act.625).
